A trip to a Normandy school to record a lesson for English Comprehension
Giving back to my local community is a great pleasure to me. When I was asked by the Conseillère Pédagogique Départementale en Langues Vivantes Étrangères to travel to Flers about 40km north of my house in Northern France, I was delighted to be able to help with this project. As I have been staying at home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was great to be out of my studio, seeing some of the French countryside - which has been flooded by recent rain - and working with the teachers in the lycée. Although I wasn’t using my equipment, I soon got into my stride and recorded a charming scene between a French tourist and a local from London, giving directions to Big Ben. Let’s hope ‘les étudiants’ find it useful. As you can see from the picture we were socially distanced, and wore masks (except when speaking) in line with the current French Government guidelines.
